DIMENSION OF RESEARCH

My research topic is the perspective of Unimas student towards online shopping.  I use the purpose of a study.The use purpose of a study there exploration, description and explanatory/ causal.

Exploration

This is called exploratory research.  Exploratory research may need to conduct an exploratory study in order to know enough to design and execute a second, more systematic and extensive study.  Exploratory studies often go unpublished.  Instead, researchers incorporate them into systematic research that they publish later.  Exploratory research rarely yields definitive answers.   Exploratory researchers are creative, open minded and flexible, adopt an investigative stance and explore all sources of information. Exploratory researchers frequently use qualitative data.  These refer research topic the review or collect data from Unimas students about the student responses that make purchases shopping online.

Description

Descriptive research presents a picture of the of the specific details of a situation, social setting, or relationship.  Descriptive and exploratory research have many similarities.  They blur together in practice.   In descriptive research, the research begins with a well-defined subject and conducts research to describe it accurately. A descriptive study presents of types of people or of social activities.  A great deal of social research is descriptive.  Based on the research topic on knowledge and research findings from Unimas students about their perception.

Explanation

The desire to know ‘why’ to explain, is the purpose of explanatory research.  It builds on exploratory and descriptive research and goes on to identify the reason occurs.  Going beyond focusing on a topic or providing a picture of it, explanatory research looks for cause and reasons.
